About me

A cardiologist by training, approachable by nature

I am Dr Ydelise Mercedes Rodríguez Pichardo, consultant and interventional cardiologist. I graduated in Medicine with honours and trained as a cardiology specialist at Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe in Valencia, one of Spain's leading reference hospitals, where I then completed two further years of subspecialty training in haemodynamics and interventional cardiology.

I hold the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) and European accreditations in interventional cardiology and haemodynamics, and since 2018 I have led the Haemodynamics Unit at Dénia Hospital. Treating the heart "from the inside" gives me a complete perspective that I bring to every consultation. I also provide cardiology support to the emergency and inpatient departments of both hospitals, assessing the patients their teams refer to me.

Behind every ECG there is a person. My work always begins with listening to them.

My private practice is devoted to clinical cardiology: diagnosis, treatment, prevention and follow-up, with enough time to explain things clearly and answer all of your questions. Consultations are available in English and Spanish.

Consultation services

Everything your heart needs, in one clinic

Diagnosis, cardiac testing and follow-up under one roof, always by appointment — this clinic is not an emergency service. Interventional procedures are indicated from the clinic and carried out at a reference hospital.

A tailored plan to lower your risk: blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking — kept in check before they harm your heart.

Work-up and management of cardiovascular disease with a clear, personalised plan.

A full assessment with clinical history, examination and ECG — also as a periodic check-up.

Ongoing care for heart failure, ischaemic heart disease and other chronic conditions.

The heart's electrical tracing: the basic test where almost every cardiology work-up begins.

An ultrasound scan of the heart showing its structure, valves and function in real time. No radiation.

We assess how your heart responds to exercise, with ultrasound imaging during exertion.

Blood tests focused on cardiovascular, metabolic and hormonal health.

An ECG recorded during exercise to investigate symptoms and functional capacity.

Continuous heart rhythm recording during your normal life, to detect arrhythmias.

Blood pressure measured over 24 hours for a reliable diagnosis of hypertension.

Cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and other imaging tests, arranged when clinically indicated.

Catheterisation to view the coronary arteries and, if needed, open them with a stent. Indicated from the clinic and carried out at a reference hospital.

A study of the heart's electrical system and, when appropriate, ablation of the sites that trigger the arrhythmia. Indicated from the clinic and coordinated with the reference hospital.

Restoring the heart's normal rhythm with a controlled shock, on an individually assessed basis.

Let's talk about your heart

Plain-language articles to help you understand and care for your cardiovascular health.
